Dubai is winning the war in Ukraine. Oil prices are at record highs. Since the West is cracking down on Russian money, the "kleptogarchs" are looking for other investment playgrounds. Dubai is the playground of the Middle East, flooded with oil money, and willing to accept new investments. For every action, there is a reaction. Some win one way; others win another way. Everyone wins in this game that we call life. Enjoy it while it lasts.

Putin's regime enriched Great Britain in general, and London in particular, for decades. After World War II, London became the fanciest money laundromat in the world. Putin's kleptocratic oligarchs or "kleptogarchs" flooded London with stolen Russian money for decades. Europe in general was the playground of Putin's oligarchs. New York City was also popular with Russian investments. Ask Trump about it and he'll brag about the art of dealing with Putin's real estate investors.
Now that Putin's cancer diagnosis is turning him into the Hitler of our times, gradually losing control of his power addiction, laundering Russian money is not as cool as it used to be. Putin is destroying Ukraine, and threatening to change the current world order. The West is fighting a proxy war against Putin on Ukrainian soil.
The West will defeat Putin. Defeating Russia would be a different story, but this is not a war against Russia. This is a war against one man, Putin. If Putin does not retreat soon from Ukraine, he will be defeated and betrayed by his own people.
Putin is entrenched in the impossible mission of beating Ukrainians in their own beloved homeland. That is impossible. As the wars in Vietnam and Afghanistan demonstrate, those type of invasions always fail. The more invaders occupy and destroy temporarily, the more passionate and smart the locals become. If Russians are tough, Ukrainians are tougher. After all, Russians are descendants of Ukrainians. Both in fighting in Spirit and technology, Ukraine is more powerful than Russia.
In the short term, Putin's army may seem to have some advantages. The temporary increase in the price of oil and other fossil fuels also helps Putin for the moment. But as we have seen so many times in the past, everything that goes up comes down. Energy prices will also collapse soon enough. Putin will be squeezed. He will be betrayed by his inner circle. The ugly man will be gone. The show will go on.
In the meantime, there are fortunes to be made while the war in Ukraine goes on. Dubai, for example, is already cashing in. Third world countries are buying Russian oil at discounted prices. Plans are being made for the reconstruction of Ukraine paid by Russian oil and natural gas. Life will go on. The world will be continue becoming a better and more interesting place every day.
What do you think?
