Indicting Trump will make him a political martyr. The cult will become both stronger and less effective. The government must do the right thing. Investigate and prosecute if necessary as it would be done against any other American. No person is above the law. If Trump is convicted, the next Republican president will pardon him for sure. The man will always live like a king. Yet, he will never become the MAGA King.

The Department of Justice (DOJ) should follow the standard criminal prosecution process. Follow the evidence and the facts wherever they lead to. Don't be concerned about political repercussions. People will find excuses for political turmoil regardless.
DOJ should present its findings to a grand jury if appropriate. MAGA will whine and cry. So what. Ultimately, the rule of law must prevail. If a jury acquits Trump, fine. If a jury convicts Trump, fine. If a judge sentences Trump to prison, the next Republican president will pardon him. Trump will be okay.
If Trump could get pregnant, he could have an abortion on live TV, and MAGA conservatives would still adore him. If Trump stole, mishandled, and potentially sold classified Top Secret military and intelligence information, MAGA would still love him. As Trump himself proclaimed, he could kill a man in Fifth Avenue, and MAGA would support him. That tells you something about MAGA. Doesn't it?
MAGA primates
All humans are primates. All MAGA Americans are humans. All MAGA Americans are primates. Trump is the alpha male leader of the American MAGA troop.
There is only one thing Trump could do to lose his supporters. Trump won't do it.
MAGA is both a political movement and a cult for like-minded activists. Politics is about power. Politics is about obtaining and maintaining power. MAGA is a movement about obtaining and maintaining power for the MAGA "team" so to speak. It's that simple.
Greed and Desire
Greedy for power, and lured by the anticipated pleasure of enjoying the privilege of power, MAGA Americans are willing to do almost everything to support their troop leader, Trump.
Most MAGA Americans are Christians. The cult of Trump resembles their version of Christianity and the American prosperity gospel. All Christians suspend disbelief for a promised reward. In the old days, and in some sects, the promised reward is salvation in the after life. Suffer now, get a reward later after you die. American evangelicalism is different.
American Christian gospel is about following Jesus Christ to earn prosperity here and now on Earth. The American prosperity gospel is not about obtaining salvation in a supposed after life. It is about obtaining prospering now to spend money and enjoy life. To prosper, all you have to do suspend disbelief, be a loyal member of the church. If you do it well, the "man upstairs" will reward you with economic prosperity.
Logic and reason are irrelevant
Logic is irrelevant in the realms of faith and MAGA politics. The American Christian gospel is that to obtain prosperity, all you need to do is suspend disbelief and follow the American spin on the tale of Jesus Christ. Disregard the fact that JC was poor and advocated for communist poverty. The American gospel version of JC tells you that he is the path to riches here on Earth.
For MAGA Christians, it doesn't matter that JC's message was about loving everyone and staying out of politics. For MAGA Christians, diversity and inclusion are "bad" liberal ideals. MAGA Christians cherish political activism to take the country "back" and backwards. Never mind that JC was a queer communist liberal, and not conservative at all. Actually, conservatives of his times crucify him to stop his progressive and liberal movement. That doesn't matter to MAGA Christians.
Christian Greed
Greedy for salvation, be it here or in an afterlife, Christians are willing to believe anything, and trained to believe in miracles. JC turned water into wine, walked on water, multiplied food, cured incurable diseases, resurrected from the dead, and flew to heaven. Everything is possible with good imagination.
MAGA Christians use their imagination to view Trump as a godsend patriot that will bring political power to the MAGA crowd. MAGA cannot see Trump as an old con artist in criminal jeopardy. MAGA folks see him as a patriotic hero that will take the country "back" and backwards. The human brain can believe anything when you allow yourself to suspend disbelief.
MAGA energy
Trump energizes the lives of MAGA Americans. Rallying for Trump gives MAGA Americans an energetic sense of belonging. Primates are wired for social connection. It's a universal need for humans. Primates survive in groups or troops; and perish alone in the wild.
The cult of Trump makes MAGA primates feel that they can survive and thrive just as they are. While the liberal elite sees MAGA as composed of deplorable rednecks and their opportunistic handlers, Trump makes MAGA Americans feel smart and special.
Trump martyrdom
The United States will soon ban Trump and put him off the market. Unfortunately for MAGA, the FBI caught Trump in possession of stolen federal property. The stolen federal property was nothing less than Top Secret classified information containing military and intelligence secrets. That is the most serious white collar crime in our country.
Trump is under federal investigation for espionage, sedition, and treason. Trump is under criminal investigation for election fraud in Georgia. Trump is under tax evasion and other financial crimes in the state of New York.
The cult of Trump will become more fringy and more energetic as the rule of law crushes down Trump. Only a miracle can save Trump. Evangelicals believe in miracles. For evangelicals, miracles require money. No wonder so many are crowdfunding the tithe for Trump's legal defense.
It will be fun to see the fall of Trump. Stay tuned. Winter is coming for Trump.
