This is why gas prices are $6 per gallon

Gas prices area about $10 a gallon in Norway; about $6 a gallon in the United States; about $3 in Russia; and about 80 cents a gallon in Venezuela. Where would you rather live? What type of government do you prefer?

There's no rhyme or reason to political arguments. Politics is the game of all games, and the sport of all sports. Politics is not about "left" vs "right" moral principles or values. Politics is about power. Politics is about who gets to be in charge. There are two teams in American politics: Team Whiteness and Team Diversity. Each one offers its respective promises to the American people. People choose their political affiliations based on what they find convenient for them.

In politics, you win by influencing people and making them do what you want them to do. That could be voting for you; saying what you want them to say; or even conducting peaceful and not so peaceful demonstrations.

How do you influence people? How do you make them do what you want them to do? The answer is simple. You push their two main buttons.

There are two main buttons that control people: fear and greed. These two emotions correlate squarely to pain and pleasure. Humans, like all other animals on planet Earth, are controlled by the pain / pleasure mechanism of life. All of your ancestors survived by seeking pleasure and avoiding the pain. The mechanism or programming survived in you.

Humans are relatively smart primates. We can shape our pain / pleasure mental associations. We can learn how to associate physical pleasure with mental pleasure, and vice versa. That does not meant that we are not controlled by the pain / pleasure mechanism of life or above it. It simply means that we can adjust or play with the pain / pleasure programming even if we can never escape it altogether.

Everything we do is controlled by pain and pleasure. Most people don't realize it because we are storytelling primates and believe our own stories. We rationalize our emotions and believe that we are rational creatures. We believe our rationalizations and ignore that they are simply stories masking our primal emotions.

Everything we do is controlled by the pain / pleasure mechanism of life. Politics is not an exception. Politicians are power addicts looking for the high of being in charge. Political followers choose political affiliations based on pain and pleasure. You follow or support a political party over another because you believe that your life will be better (i.e more pleasurable and less painful) doing so. Likewise, you may be neutral for the same mental association process.

Whatever "reason" you offer to explain your politics is an excuse; a rationalization of you basic pain / pleasure emotions. If you support what we call "Team Whiteness" is because you believe you will be better off with that team in charge. If you support what we call "Team Diversity" is because you believe that you will be better off with that team in charge.

You then go into a complicated rationalizations that many times are nonsensical. For example, you may be a defender of capitalism, but want cheap gas like in Russia or Venezuela. Do you really want to trade your democracy and free market economy for cheap gas? Are you now the socialist / communist that you accuse the others of being?

It's hard to follow the logic because there is none. There is no rhyme or reason to political arguments because they are just made up rationalizations of our primal emotions. Gas prices are about $6 a gallon in our country because we have a free market economy and not a communist fossil fuel dictatorship. How do you like that? We like it a lot.

If you want to save in gas, drive less. If you are really crazy about cheap gas, move to Venezuela.

Food for thought. What do you think?

Great Replacement

Great Replacement vs Great Awakening The Great Replacement is the observation that a segment of the American political left wants to control the Nation politically by replacing American born white voters with nonwhite immigrants. The Great Awakening is the counter observation that a segment of the American political right wants to control the Nation by instigating white rage and white supremacy. Both observations hold true in the eyes of their respective beholders. This is still the classic North vs South conflict in America. There is a lot of money to be made keeping our Nation together and avoiding a second civil war.   TakeSlap serves spicy food for thought. We toss words together to slap you into innovative thinking.
